Choosing the Right Agent to Sell Your Home

When it is time to sell your home, choosing the right agent is one of the most important decisions you will make.

Many homeowners start by asking, “What do you think my home is worth?” That is an important question, but it should not be the only one.

A strong listing agent should bring a complete strategy to the table. That strategy should include preparation, pricing, staging, marketing, communication, negotiation, and guidance through the unexpected issues that can come up during a sale.

Before you hire an agent, consider asking:

  • What should we do before listing?

  • Which repairs or improvements are most likely to matter to buyers?

  • How will the home be staged and photographed?

  • How will you market the property beyond simply putting it on the MLS?

  • How will you communicate with me during the process?

  • What is your pricing strategy, and what data supports it?

  • How do you handle negotiations?

  • What happens if the home does not receive the activity we expected?

The right agent should be able to explain the process clearly. They should also be able to help you prioritize what matters and avoid spending time or money on things that may not help the sale.

In North King and South Snohomish Counties, every property is different. A home in Kenmore may need a different strategy than a condo in Lynnwood, a property in Lake Forest Park, or a home in Edmonds. Neighborhood, price point, condition, presentation, and buyer expectations all matter.

Selling a home is not just about putting it online. It is about preparing it well, positioning it correctly, marketing it effectively, and negotiating with your best interests in mind.

That is why choosing the right agent matters.
